Sharing Wings Foundation recognizes the critical importance of protecting children and ensuring their safety in all aspects of their lives. As part of our commitment to their well-being, we are implemented a program aimed at educating young school-going children about safe touch and unsafe touch.
Our program on safe touch and unsafe touch is designed to empower children with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, understand, and respond appropriately to different types of touch. We approach this topic with sensitivity, age-appropriate language, and interactive methods to create a safe and comfortable environment for learning.
Through engaging workshops, discussions, and educational materials, we provide children with a clear understanding of what constitutes safe touch and what constitutes unsafe touch. We explain the importance of personal boundaries, emphasizing that their bodies are their own and that they have the right to decide who can touch them and in what manner.
We teach children to differentiate between various types of touch, such as loving and caring touch from trusted family members or friends, and touch that makes them feel uncomfortable, scared, or violated. We educate them on identifying warning signs, such as inappropriate touching, secret-keeping, or forced actions, and encourage them to trust their instincts and seek help if they encounter such situations.
Our program will also focuses on teaching children about trusted adults and the importance of open communication. We emphasize that they should feel comfortable talking to their parents, teachers, or other responsible adults if they experience any form of unsafe touch. We provide them with strategies for reporting incidents, seeking support, and understanding that they will be listened to and believed.
Furthermore, our program incorporates the concept of consent and respect for other’s; boundaries. We teach children the importance of asking for permission before touching someone else and how to recognize and respect when others say “no” or express discomfort.
By equipping young children with this knowledge, we aim to empower them to protect themselves, understand their rights, and develop the confidence to speak up against any form of abuse. We believe that early education on safe touch and unsafe touch is crucial in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow, learn, and flourish.
Sharing Wings Foundation is committed to collaborating with schools, parents, and community organizations to raise awareness, provide resources, and advocate for policies that prioritize the safety and well-being of children. Together, let us ensure that every child has the knowledge and tools to recognize and respond to safe touch and unsafe touch, fostering a culture of respect, trust, and protection.
